Staying in the old part of Istanbul, not far from the Blue Mosque.
Today we did an excellent guided walking tour, so much to see in the old area. First stop Topkapi Palace Museum.

guide Doc, explaining some of the history of our next port of call the Ayasofya. This is the 3rd building built on this site, previous two destroyed. Has been a church, then a mosque then after Turkey became a republic it was changed to a museum.
the first flying buttress ever built, over thousand years ago. This was to give added strength for the dome
inside, amazing mosaic ceiling made up of millions of small tiles.
